Automated Job Scheduling

The PEP Machine Scheduling Software works seamlessly with PEP’s nesting software and machine databases to automatically schedule nests and provides a live view with reports.  There is no manual data entry required, jobs will appear on the schedule automatically as they are nested and post processed.

The machine schedule can be used to track jobs, create reports, order material, find remnants, and add parts to an existing nest to prioritize the workload in real time.

Machine Scheduling Overview

Above, you can see the machine scheduling screen. Users can easily manage it with the following:

  1. When highlighting a nest on the bar chart or the nest directory the preview window on the right will display the highlighted nest graphically.
  2. Each material has a unique color on the schedule based on its material and grade. The highlighted plate’s material in the list at the top of the screen is outlined in blue, making it easy to identify similar jobs to group together.
  3. The nest name, due date, cut time, etc. is displayed in the rectangular box below the selected plate when highlighted.
  4. When a nest is selected from the bar chart the nest directory scrolls, highlighting the appropriate nest and other pertinent information about the nest at the bottom of the screen.
  5. The Machine Scheduling Menu selections such as Find, Late Jobs, Remnant, Utilization and Time Available toggle on and off additional bar graphs about the machine schedule. Actions such as Nesting and Close Plates and Reports are available on the menu

Strategic Visibility

Reports

Machine scheduling is capable of producing 3 levels of reports for differing parts of your shop/workflow (Material Ordering, Material Delivery, and Operator’s Report):

The material ordering report is the top level report that details all the materials that need to be ordered to satisfy the schedule or a selected date range. This helps with visibility and inventory ordering and tracking.

The material delivery report is the mid level report that tells the material handler what machines need what materials to run for the day. This helps with staging and enables a material handler to pre-build a pallet for a machine to run all day.

The operator report tells the operator all the jobs they are expected to run for the day as well as the times, materials, and all relevant information they need to operate. This helps the operator prefer for change overs and other daily tasks.
