After having used PEP software now for over 7 years at 4 different job shops, I have been able to see many of the useful improvements that you have put into your software. A couple of them that I wanted to thank you specifically for are the pre-piercing routine and the automatic downloading of software.
The pre-piercing routine has allowed us to process specific materials much faster than using conventional piercing methods, without huge blowouts. The PEP software also lets you control the number of parts you want to pre-pierce, allowing the programmer complete control of the process and to avoid heat related material movement problems that may occur if you would choose to pre-pierce the entire sheet first. One of our repeat jobs has a large part that has over 200 holes in 1/4" HR material. Using the pre-piercing routine, we have reduced the processing time for each part from over 20 minutes each to under 13 minutes each, with no side effects.
The automatic downloading feature is a no brainer. In the past when a software update was sent to us, we had to copy it to the network, and then have each programmer access it and load the software themselves. So some machines were not current with other machines and you had to have great communication to make sure everyone knew where the new files were located. Now, each person is responsible to get their own, whenever they need and virtually guarantee that we all are using the latest software, with any new improvements or features. This is a wonderful idea.
