·   How many hours are the machines run?

24 hours per day, 6 days per week

QUESTION

BRUNSWICK REPLY

Speed of processing orders?

  • Methods/number of steps required to find files

  • Time to analyze the jobs to be cut

  • Prioritize the jobs to be cut

  • More nests produced with less effort

Before we purchased WIP there were 2 programmers working 5 to 8 hours a day programming.

After installing WIP we now rely on one programmer working 1 to 2 hours a day.    This is more than 10 hours saved per day!

Our processing methods have changed drastically.  I now run WIP over night.  The next day when I come in all I do is verify that there are no errors in the comment section of the nest directory and review the nests.  It’s great.

Accuracy in processing orders?

  • Part revisions

  • Change orders

  • Part quantities

Accuracy has increased.   WIP has caught several order entry errors before they were cut.   We can make changes to nests right up to the point before a nest goes to the table to be cut.

Material Yield?

  • Having more parts of the same material type and thickness to combine.

  • Filling more empty spots

Our plate utilization has gone up from the low 70% range to the mid 80% range and continues to climb.

Machine Productivity?

  • Having the right job ready to be cut

  • Ability to add rush jobs to scheduled nests

We always have to rush jobs, or last minute orders to cut repair parts for machines in our customers’ factories.   We can now do that by either creating a new nest or adding the parts to a nest about to be cut.

On Time Delivery?

  • Misplaced orders

  • Delay

  • Ease of processing

We are now able to track orders by either their drawing number or the work order number, making life easier.

What Features in Wip do you use the most?

  • Part revisions

  • Change orders

  • Part quantities

The over night nesting.  The fact I can tell WIP to use drops first before full plates is great.   WIP has freed up ½ of my day to draw parts or whatever else needs to be done.

Is Wip better than your previous methods of generating nests?

Hell YES!
