·        The IMPORT DATA FORMAT

      The Import data format is the same format used by the WIP database.  Whether the export file is output in the same format or not is inconsequential because the mapping software will cross reference the data in the export file and save the information correctly into the WIP database.

 

·        The WIP.MAP file

      The Wip.Map file is used to cross reference the MRP export format with the work orders, drawings, quantities, etc. to the WIP import format used by the WIP database.

  • The user sets up the cross reference file one time.
  • The WIP.MAP file lists the key data types that can be mapped into WIP.  
  • The required data are; Work Order, Drawing Name, Qty Required, Date Required and Material
  • The WIP.MAP file must be saved to the P.E.P. workstation in the C:\PEP\WIP\WIP.MAP drive.

 

 

MRP Export File Example

In this example we have Work order, quantity required, Drawing, Due date & Material description

WO-001, 25pcs,  A100, 03/10/03, MS512 .25” thick

WO-002, 10pcs,  A200, 03/11/03, SS304 10 Gauge

WO-002, 25pcs,  A300, 03/09/03, Al6061T6 .125” thick

 

·        The WIP.MAT file

      The Wip.Mat file is used to cross reference the material type for each drawing in the export file to the   P.E.P. Material database.  

  • The mapping software creates the material cross reference file automatically
  • As new material types are found in the export file the user will be prompted to input the corresponding P.E.P. material number by highlighting the material in the P.E.P. database.
  • As previously exported material numbers re-appear in the MRP export file the materials will be matched up to the WIP.MAT file automatically without interrupting the conversion process.
  • The WIP.MAT file is automatically created and saved in the “C:\PEP\WIP” directory
