Measurement Masters, Inc. (MMI) was founded in San Diego, California in 1974 by Robert Jencks. The company started as a distributor of measurement equipment and machine tools. In 1977 MMI moved to its current location in Costa Mesa, California.

With the development of the desktop computer, Mr. Jencks saw a need for an easy to use software program to drive machine tools, and in 1978 a text editor version of P.E.P. was finished and selling well. Frustrated by the lack of computer graphics, MMI went on to create its own graphics, and from there to develop the first CAD/CAM software product to do graphics on a PC computer in 1981.

Today, P.E.P. is still the innovative industry leader it has always been. As true today as it has been for over twenty years, the strength of the P.E.P. software lies in its simplicity of programming, automation, speed of programming, the depth of features and capabilities, and the knowledge of those within the company to support P.E.P. customers.

LASERS

The laser software has been in the field driving lasers since 1986. Besides supporting all of the lasers on the market and their special requirements as discussed in this document, MMI developed:

• The laser airbag software that made it economical to cut cloth with a laser.
• The three axis rotary chuck software used to drive the rotary chuck shipped with Cincinnati Incorporated lasers.
• Extended table software used to drive lasers with extended tables and work zones.

FLAME CUTTING & WATERJET CUTTING

The Flame and Water Jet software has been in the field driving Gas, Plasma, Hi-Definition plasma and water jet machines since 1983. Today, most of the major steel service centers in the United States use the P.E.P. software to drive their cutting machines. Besides supporting all of the flame manufacturers and controls on the market and their special requirements, MMI developed:

• Multiple torch nesting for standard and automatic repositioning machines.
• Beveling software to drive beveling torches.

• Punch-marking, powder marking, drilling and tapping software cycles to support multi-cycle cutting machines.

PUNCHING

The Punching software supports all of the requirements of the punching application. A partial list of the special features includes:

• Automatic tooling of individual parts and nested sheets
• Automatic repositioning of tools around the clamps
• Automatic and manual repositioning of work zones.
• Standard and straight line turrets.
• Trap doors
